The new BMW X1 M35i xDrive is a performance car with M characteristics and takes the compact Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) concept to a new level. BMW presents the new top model for the BMW X1. The BMW X1 M35i xDrive combines the latest and most powerful variant of the brand’s turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine with specific chassis settings and distinctive features.
Most powerful four-cylinder engine
The BMW X1 M35i xDrive is equipped with a powerful four-cylinder gasoline engine of the latest generation. This engine features the innovative Miller combustion process, optimized intake ports and combustion chambers as well as improvements in camshaft control, injection, ignition system and exhaust gas routing. With a peak output of 221 kW/300 hp in Europe and 233 kW/317 hp in the U.S. and selected markets, the X1 M35i xDrive offers impressive performance. The vehicle features an M-specific exhaust system with two pairs of tailpipes that produces a distinctive sound.
Steptronic transmission with dual clutch
The 7-speed Steptronic transmission in the BMW X1 M35i xDrive features highly dynamic shifting. Gearshift paddles on the steering wheel allow manual intervention in the selection of drive ratios. BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive distributes drive torque between the front and rear wheels as needed, supported by a mechanical differential lock in the transmission. This improves the vehicle’s traction, driving stability and agility. The M Sport Boost function enables particularly dynamic intermediate sprints by maximizing the sportiness of all drive and suspension systems.
Integrated braking system
The integrated braking system in the BMW X1 M35i xDrive offers precise deceleration performance and authoritative feedback via the brake pedal. As an option, the X1 M35i xDrive can be equipped with an M compound braking system that offers high braking comfort, precise dosing and stable deceleration performance. The brake calipers are painted gray and bear the M logo.
Sporty ambience in the interior
The BMW X1 M35i xDrive offers a distinctly sporty atmosphere in the interior, which can be further enhanced with exclusive options such as the M sports seats. The fully digital display system and a wide range of optional extras are available to optimize driving pleasure, comfort and individuality.
