Carolina Herrera – The icon of elegance

Carolina Herrera is a Venezuelan-American designer known for her classic and refined style. She was born on January 8, 1939 in Caracas, Venezuela. As a child she was interested in fashion and art and was inspired by her grandmother who sent her haute couture dresses from Paris.

Herrera began her career as a publicist for Emilio Pucci. She was a well-known figure in international society and was often praised for her elegant taste. In 1980 she started her own fashion house with the support of the legendary Vogue editor Diana Vreeland. Her first collection was a great success and earned her the recognition of critics and customers.

Since then, Herrera has expanded her brand into a global empire that includes women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, fragrances, eyewear and home furnishings. She has dressed some of the world’s most famous women, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Michelle Obama and Renée Zellweger. She is also known for her wedding gowns, which she designed for Caroline Kennedy and Meghan Markle, for example.

She founded several lines, including CH Carolina Herrera for a younger target group, Carolina Herrera New York for haute couture and Carolina Herrera Bridal for bridal fashion. She also successfully launched perfumes, accessories, eyewear, shoes and jewelry under her name. Her products are sold worldwide in many countries.

Herrera has received numerous awards for her work, including the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year Award (2004) and the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award (2008). Herrera is an icon of elegance and style who has inspired generations of women. With her vision of beauty and sophistication, she has enriched and shaped the world of fashion.
