Mercedes-Benz to use Tesla charging network in the USA from 2024

Mercedes-Benz will be the first German automaker to integrate NACS technology into its new electric vehicles from 2025. To facilitate the transition, Mercedes-Benz will initially offer an adapter that will enable electric vehicles with CCS connections to be charged at fast charging points with NACS technology from 2024.

Mercedes-Benz is planning to establish its own fast-charging network in North America. Around 400 charging stations and more than 2,500 charging points are to be established by the end of the decade. The first Mercedes-Benz charging stations in North America are expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2023 and will be equipped with both CCS1 and NACS connectors.

Globally, Mercedes-Benz intends to establish more than 2,000 charging hubs in North America, Europe, China and other core markets by the end of the decade. These are expected to total more than 10,000 charging points and can be expanded as needed. The Mercedes-Benz Charging Hubs will be accessible to electric vehicles of all brands.

New standard for charging infrastructure

With its own charging network, Mercedes-Benz aims to set a new standard for charging infrastructure. The aim is to provide a convenient experience when charging electric vehicles quickly, safely and in an environmentally friendly manner. Mercedes-Benz customers can already access over 1.2 million charging points worldwide via Mercedes me Charge. The company plans to further expand the charging network and establish more than 2,000 charging hubs with a total of more than 10,000 charging points in various markets by the end of the decade.
