up to 480 kilometres of range
Swedish car company Volvo has announced the launch of their all-new EX30 electric SUV, which will hit the market this autumn. With a length of 4.23 metres, the EX30 will be the smallest SUV Volvo has produced to date. The basic version of the vehicle boasts a striking design and is equipped with a powerful 200 kW/272 hp electric motor and a battery with a capacity of 51 kWh. This combination enables an impressive range of up to 344 kilometres. The entry price for the EX30 is 36.590 Euro. Alternatively, a version with a larger 69 kWh battery is also offered, which provides a range of 480 kilometres and is available from a price of 48.490 euros.
Surprisingly favourable prices
The top model of the EX30, which will be available from a price of ca. 48.490 euros, has an additional electric motor that increases the total output to an impressive 315 kW/428 hp. This version is available exclusively with the larger battery option and offers a range of 460 kilometres. The EX30 is also equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system and allows charging at a DC fast charging station with an output of up to 153 kW.
Up to 153 kW charging power at DC pillars
Charging power varies depending on battery size. The LFP battery can be charged with a maximum power of 134 kW, while the LMC battery supports a charging power of up to 153 kW. This allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 25 minutes. With impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h, the EX30 is also the fastest Volvo SUV in the company’s history.
New generation of the parking pilot
Equipped with a range of assistance systems, including Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Parking Assist, the EX30 allows for parking in a variety of parking spaces. These advanced features enable the vehicle to navigate congested traffic, assist with lane changes, and facilitate parking maneuvers. Volvo claims that the EX30’s total carbon footprint has been reduced to less than 30 tonnes over 200,000 kilometres of driving.
made of denim and shredded window frames
Volvo places great emphasis on sustainability and has used recycled aluminium and recycled steel for the bodywork in the EX30’s material selection. The interior uses recycled materials such as denim, shredded window frames and upholstery fabrics made from pine oil. The upcoming Volvo model, expected to be the fourth electric vehicle in their lineup, is anticipated to have the lowest CO2 emissions among the manufacturer’s range of models.
